23 february.
While everybody in Russian and CIS countries celebrate Defender of the Fatherland Day, Chechen & Ingush people mourn. Because in this day 80 years ago they were deported by Stalin in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and another countries from this region).
It was not easy for the people. For a long time they were deprived of any connection with their homeland, and only after Stalin's death were they able to return to their homeland. But the pain still remains in their heart.
Many Stalinists try to justify this by saying that there were a lot of traitors among the Chechens, that they were collaborators. But none of this is true. Firstly, then the region where the Chechens lived was not occupied by Nazi Germany. And secondly, Chechens have a concept of honor; for them, going over to the side of the enemy means betraying and disgracing their family. Therefore, all these reasons are unfounded and are only aimed at justifying a criminal action against the Chechen people.
Unfortunately, in 2023 in Russia, new history textbooks began to justify the deportation policy with might and main. And only the intervention of Kadyrov himself forced the education ministers to remove this from the history textbooks (but not all).
Anyway, Tatars mourn together with Chechens and Ingush people. Because we are all muslims.
