My bet remains that some entity was (imprisoned? lurking?) inside the amulet, and now said entity is (trapped? free? rapidly taking control?) inside her. Over the course of the comic her demeanor and mannerisms have had some rapid whiplashes at times, and there are a lot of times where her thoughts or statements are almost like a passive and even confused observer to everything going on.

And then there's the whole nature of her ascension... is it a prior queen demonically-corrupted? Some elder god slowly rewriting reality? Whatever it is, it seems to be gaining in power along with her waistline, and it certainly seems like that trajectory is downright exponential.

There's also a part of me that wonders whether the good girl servant is really just a passive worshipper or actually a servant of the amulet entity.
