So minor distinction, the comm implant has a few override gestures, holding the palm up to your mouth sets the comms to audio only, pressing a finger to the side of your head (like John's doing here) sets it to audio only but the output is limited to a small implant in the ear. The system can also be set to that manually but the gesture is an easy default.
