Pounds Upon Pounds (PART 1)
"...have I...?"
Melon looked into the mirror, his brow furrowed and his hands feeling across his red midsection. His eyes had to be playing tricks on him. There's no way he'd actually gotten bigger... Perhaps it's just a little bit of water weight. Maybe it's just last night's dinner. Maybe he's just a little bloated...
"...nah. Nah, I'm fine. No problems at all. It'll go away." Melon was livung comfortably in a state of denial as he put on his shirt, buttoning it up and concealing his rounded beer-belly as best he could. When he buttoned his pants and slipped on his belt, however, he could feel his gut spilling out over his pants, giving him a subtle yet rather noticeable muffin-top.
He sighed uneasily and turned to make his way out of the bathroom, his eyes settling on a seldom-used bathroom scale. "Nah. I'll be fine. Just might have to hit the gym a little bit, is all."
With that, he stepped out of the bathroom, his belly already rumbling as he excitedly thought about what he'd have for breakfast.
