More art of Radar, the nerdy fennec boy. Surprisingly, despite being another one of those one-off characters I wouldn't have expected to really amount to much, as I drew him and began typing out this description, I figured out a lot about him.
He goes to the same community college as some of my other nerdy characters like Gretchen, Colby, and Rhetta, and he's very interested in electronics, amateur/HAM radio, and aviation. One quirky little ability he may have picked up from his interest in these things is fluency in Morse code, something that isn't exactly common nowadays but could still definitely be handy, even if it's just for sending somewhat secret messages to his friends by tapping his pen on his desk or something.

Of course, "Radar" is his nickname, owing both to his big ears and his interest in radio, but I have yet to decide on a legal name for him. The more I think about it, I am sorta leaning towards "Aiden" as a possible name, as I can see that sorta morphing into "Radar" if someone misheard him giving his name at some point.
He is generally well-liked by most of the other characters around him, and might even be one of the few characters that Nico Reynard got along with in high school (after the entirely expected bullying Nico would subject the pudgy squeaky little nerd to, of course), owing to his cheerful and friendly nature and interest in radio and music, and perhaps having helped Nico get his old beat-up stereo working again after Nico hit it a bit too hard in a fit of rage. I can see the two bonding over a shared interest in loud heavy metal music, and the idea of Radar helping Nico with homework a little bit on the down-low in exchange for some protection from other bullies is an oddly endearing idea to me, even if Radar never really experienced much bullying otherwise. Another aspect of the arrangement may very well have been to get Nico to bring him along when Nico decided to break into abandoned buildings to explore and vandalize, or at least get Nico to swipe old radios and the like and bring them back to Radar instead of smashing them against walls.
Dominika Reynard also likes him quite a bit (but she likes just about everyone, so that's entirely unremarkable), and he is currently romantically interested in Rhetta DeVos. The bit about Dominika being friends with Radar actually came from an attempt at roleplaying with a friend, in which I suggested the easiest way for Dominika to approach his fennec character might be for her to mistake him for her friend Radar when seen from across the street, which is entirely plausible for a ditz like Dominika.
Despite his big ears, while drawing him I decided he has some difficulty hearing, although I have yet to decide what sort of hearing aid he may use, and how that sort of thing would look for a fennec. It's something I would have to research a bit, as I know both the traditional in-ear hearing aids and the cochlear implant type exist but have different use-cases (and in the case of the implant type, would require even more research on my part to get the visuals to look correct both in general and when applied to a cartoon fox). Meanwhile, in-ear hearing aids may not even be all that visible, owing to his large ears and the feathery ear hairs fennecs have.
If and when I get around to designing hearing aids for him, he will 100% have figured out how to sync them to his phone via Bluetooth, which is something I have actually encountered at least once in real life. He might even go so far as to figure out how to use them to listen into other radio broadcasts somehow, which is a bit more fantastical but could prove to be an interesting little quirk of his character. And, of course, when dealing with characters he finds annoying or uninteresting, he would 100% turn his hearing aid off or use it to listen to music or something instead of whatever blabbermouth he has decided isn't worth wasting battery listening to.
