Fennia is a special, if unfortunate case compared to other Yondards.

She tells others that she has amnesia, and is a special Autyon (Auto-Yondard). Unlike other Autyons, though, Fennia is completely sapient. That said, she cannot move much on her own, effectively a sitting duck (well, emu-raptor) unless someone is controlling her. However, outside of Kolruu, few are even able to attempt to do so without inducing incredible strain on their bodies.

She is also, however, not actually an amnesiac, but a failed experiment trying to merge a Yondard with a human. She, Yolanda, spent an unknown amount of time captured, but escaped, only able to move because the Yondard part of her mind was still alive, if briefly. But the escape attempt left her severely wounded and missing an arm. And with the 'Yondard' side of her now dead, she would spend some amount of time simply half alive, fading in and out of consciousness and unable to move, taking the Yondard's name Fennia, not out of tribute, but out of desperation mixed with realizing she was no longer human.

However long she spent, she would be saved by Kolruu, who fixes her up, although the circumstances surrounding her rescue...


In any case, Fennia would act as Kolruu's confidant, as well as the general mode of transportation. She is, however, at best considered a bit strange, and at worst slightly insane. How much of it is her human mind dealing with Yondards and how much of it is her being actually a bit nuts tends to vary, and her claim of amnesia is meant to cover for not needing to explain herself. She knows more than she looks, but is incapable of acting on it... not that she really wants to. Her old life, her right arm, even her ability to move is gone, with no one around who could understand what she has gone through.

She also has a bad habit of busting into laughter when anyone makes some comment she sees as innuendo. Unfortunately, this goes over the heads of the Yondards (a species that does not sexually reproduce and thus wouldn't quite understand sexual innuendo), so it very much looks like she maniacially laughs at random points in time.
