Trustworhy people are of shortage nowadays. Especially when you are a paranoid dictator who thinks he is capable of challening a god.
If you can't have an ally who will be trustworthy, zealous, strong and capable enough... someone like yourself.... maybe clonning yourself sounds like a valid option?
Bit of your genetic material in the replicator, feed it with biomass, infuse the resulting body with the package of your own feelings, thoughts and memories though your unmatched psionic power... sounds easy enough.

Now you have an army of yourself put in stasis untill needed for whatever task only you can do, if you had more hands and could be in many places at once. They share your experience. They share your goals. Everything they do - they do at the best of their ability, with most interest. Because they do it for themselves.

Just don't forget to put them back to stasis once the job is done. Because for rest of your life - the one and only is plenty enough.
