Detective Scarlowe having some quiet time... perhaps reflecting on a rough day of work and taking a quick stroll to calm his mind before going inside to be with his wife and son, or preparing to deliver some bad news to the family of a missing individual or someone whose relative was just the victim of a crime.

When I go for walks, I find my mind often wanders as well, and I sometimes wind up "talking to" (for lack of a better phrasing) certain characters of mine. In one of these instances in mid-May, I finally found out Scruffy's real name is Samson Scarlowe... but like so many of my other characters, he'll probably keep going by his nickname, since "Scruffy" is what he's gone by pretty much since I first drew him.

I've also mentioned that two other underused characters of mine are his wife and son, respectively--his wife, Linda, is a fairly generic German Shepherd lady I drew a few times in the late 2010s, while little puppy Dennis is his son. While I'm rambling about relationships, it's worth mentioning that I figured out that Linda's brother is another nearly-forgotten character of mine, a soldier named Declan Delaney from back when I was on that "soldiers" kick in 2015.

He's also Brantley "Bubba" Haywood's cousin. I mentioned in the past that Scruffy and Bubba were related, but never really went into specifics while possibly hinting they might be brothers, but in this same "conversation" I found out that Scruffy's mother is Bubba's aunt. As a result, Scruffy and Bubba were and still are quite close, and despite Bubba remaining out in the country and living the redneck life while Scruffy moved to the city and eventually became a detective, the two still keep in contact and get together regularly.
