A new commissioned comic for 
Moongaze14 featuring my Zodiac characters.
Round 2! There has been some conjecture as to what the match-ups will be and I just want to let you know I had no real part in deciding them. Gemini's entire deal is hand-to-hand combat so he is a tough opponent for anyone unless he's simply not able to hurt them due to supernatural toughness. Scorpio has a good grasp on martial arts and I try to base her style of fighting on mantis or snake style of kung-fu that favors low stances and quick, thrusting strikes as this pairs well with her dark touch.
I thought it might be fun if Scorpio attempted to distract Gemini in the same way that Taurus did to Aries. Well, Taurus is a bit more distracting and Gemini is a bit more disciplined so sorry, Scorpio but nice try.

Fighting strictly hand-to-hand with no powers Pisces would have a very hard time. Pisces is an excellent and experienced fighter but Gemini is on a whole different level. I like to think of the team as a bunch of statistics like strength, intelligence, toughness, fighting, etc and many of them I can name who is the highest. Gemini has the greatest fighting ability though many of the team are good or excellent at hand to hand.
For the opening round, this was definitely a pairing I had pegged as a likely even match (or at least potentially even). However, I think her "feminine wiles" gambit was doomed from the start. Gemini certainly doesn't seem the type to fall for something like that, and I get the feeling that Scorpio isn't shameless enough to get the same "shock and awe" factor that Taurus could. She seems more the "femme fatale" type, were she to take that approach, which doesn't really work when your opponent knows they're already in a fight.

It was interesting to see what Sonja "Scorpio" is capable of in a physical fight without her powers.
I suspect that the only one of the females on the Zodiac team that would be a serious challenge for Pete "Gemini" in a physical fight in a ring without active powers would be Janine "Taurus" just because of her super strength and durability. Taurus might struggle to get a hit on Gemini due to her lack of fighting skills but Gemini might have difficulty taking Taurus down due to her strength and durability. It is the match-up that seems most likely to be able to teach them something.

Gemini fighting Taurus would be challenging for both. Taurus would have an incredibly hard time landing a hit on Gemini and while Gemini could attack her at will, she would be difficult to actually hurt. However, in this training scenario, he does not have to beat her to submission, he just has to pin her, knock her out or get her to admit defeat. He would likely just scare her into quitting.
