There was tossing, turning, and screaming coming from the bed. Todd was having a nightmare.
The events of the dream causing him to break into a cold sweat. Darlene and Adlai shook him together to wake him.
Darlene: "Kleiner mann! Wake up honey!" Adlai: "Master, please wake up!"
Todd: "GET AWAY FROM THEM! NO NOOO!!!" He then awoke in labored breath, panting and gasping for air.
Darlene: "Was ist passiert?"
Todd: "Oh Darlene it was awful, Alex kidnapped the two of you. He he reprogrammed Adlai to be an assassin, and I won't even tell what his gang did to you. But he ended up hypnotizing you to snap my neck and burn the house down. Twisting my head around backwards when I hugged you..."
Darlene: "I would never do that Todd, I love you." As she pulled him into a hug, before kissing him tenderly on the lips. Letting him know he was safe. "I might bite in my sleep, but I'd never hurt my boyfriend on purpose."
Adlai: "And don't you worry master, I can't be reprogrammed except by my original designer. Plus I wouldn't let any harm come to either of you."
As she then gave both Todd and Darlene a sweet kiss on the cheek.
Todd: "So Alex didn't get a hold of either of you?"
Darlene: "No darling, we are okay. Nothing bad is going to happen to you." As she pressed her forehead to his.
Adlai: "Alex is your black sheep, hypnotist, brother correct?"
Todd: "Yeah, why?"
Adlai: "No reason, just making a mental file for later..."
He raised an eyebrow, but decided the less he knew the less likely he could be considered as an accomplice.
