"Double time, Ladies." Firefight said, "We got 3 pursuers still."

"Their trucks in top gear, Captain." Sue said, "This is the best I can do aside from keep in a straight line."

Firefight turned to Tremor Max next, "Let them have it!" and he pulled out his grenade launcher too.

Max just gave a nod, and pulled out his machine gun, revving it up and then opening fire. Dean kept more to the driver seat of the second truck. Even if Circuit was controlling it, he was grabbed the wheel and did what he could to keep going, even ignoring Frost's backseat driving.



A shower of bullets caused the trucks to split off, and Dante took air for the one what veered right into his sights. Three taps of the trigger and the truck flipped from the force of the explosions. Max kept his gun on one of the trucks, but it started to swerve away more and get larger rocks between it and him. he turned his gun on the other one the, and then there was a large bump that caused him to hold onto the side of the truck rather than keep aim.

"Going up hill," Sue shouted, "Hold on tight!"

The trucks swerved as they adjusted for the sloped trails they could make. Driving up hill, rocking about from the rough terrain, and trying to keep from going over the tight edge.



Firefight and Tremor Max kept watch on the trucks that seemed to back away as they kept going up. It first seemed like they were clear and making headway toward their location, Then Foresight sat up and looked to Deathless Dean.

"Shotgun, at the ready, now!" she ordered, "Everyone clear out!"

Dean didn't question the order at first, but he looked around for what he was about to shoot. It was heard before they saw it, the roaring sound of thrusters, rockets coming right for them. Everyone cleared out of the obvious targets, but Dean was closer to the trucks as he prepared his shotgun. He popped off a few shots, shooting down and blowing up about two or three rockets mid-flight. However, on a fourth shot, the explosion was too close and knocked Dean off the map. He got up fast, and ran, but the other rockets blew up the trucks and sent him flying. In a blur, Sue Dan Blitz ran back for him and then carried him back toward the others in their retreat for higher up the mountain.

They all took cover behind rocks, and Frostfight took a look to Dean. "Well, bones are still in tact, but that's a lot of cuts." She looked to the wounded weapon, "Can you move?"

"Yeah, it just hurts a whole lot." Dean groaned.

"It'll heal, You always do." Frost said, "have some morphine for now." She injected something into him and then help him up. "Come on."

Dean let out a hard sigh and got to his feet, following the others, marching up the mountain more. About a quarter ways up, they came across people with guns, but they didn't raise theirs in turn.

"Friendly, friendlies." Dante called, and then Dean repeated it in the native tongue. Dean conversed with them a bit more, and soon, both sides were lowering their weapons.
