It's evening on the USS Vicksburg, and the senior staff has been entertaining the small delegation of Memer. A species that, as the crew is slowly learning, has subjugated the Prú, another species they co-evolved with on the same planet. And while both sides claim that they are happy about the arrangement, there are signs that the Prú might only be obedient and loving of their masters due to drugs that they are exposed to from before birth.

While Captain L'Moirot is doing his best to remain diplomatic and entertain the guests for the possibility of learning more about the situation and potentially strike a trade deal with the Memer for resources that an allied colony desperately needs, Lieutenant Maetherragh is barely able to hold back his rage towards the Memer, who are no more than slavers in his eyes. Doctor Sol is ready to intervene in case the Security Chief's nerves of steel turn out to be insufficient. Commander Corpobni is closely monitoring the emotional state of the table.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant S'Tia and the Memer engineer are happily discussing topics of science and technology, enjoying their meal.
