You lucky c***!
That's awesome dude. I really respect their work.
Nice timing too, a friend who runs a horse rescue got one of the centaur costumes from the Narnia series and wants me to complete it into a presentable costume (the physical costumes were just for on-set appearance for the benefit of the actors and extras.) Personally, I'd rather work with Mongrels puppets!

I think that's a duplicate Marion. Marion in the pilot was a completely different character model. It's an "extra" in various episodes.
The chicken is probably the same as both the one from the pilot as well as the one in the first episode. They didn't use the chicken character in the pilot, I guess it was going to be too boring a character. I'm glad they dropped it personally.

The one on the shelf is Marion from series 1, but it has been dressed up for an episode they have just shot. They mentioned they are shooting with the new puppets, and the old ones are backups and are used for "rough treatment" and dressing up. They also have a backup mechanism for Kali, since the internals are quite intricate and if something broke it would stop production until it could be fixed. The mechanisms are made by a specialist. I'll post a photo later.
I re-watched most of them this week before the tour - I expect a lot of the jokes go over your heads, somebody should really create a reference guide for each episode, it would take ages though there are so many! A lot of the celebrities mentioned are B/C-list. Eg. in one episode it mentions "You've Been Framed", a long-running home video clip show (probably unknown outside of the UK), which Kali had a vendetta against. I mentions the late Jeremy Beadle who presented it for many years, a visual gag was Beadle bursting out of a grave, one arm shorter than the other, a reference to a disability he suffered from. (Actually that wasn't well-known so it would have been missed by a lot of people). It also mentioned Harry Hill, the current presenter, again a B-list.
Amazing! Always good to see another Mongrels fan, and you have no idea how amazing it is you went to the tour with your suit! That is a dozen kinds of awesome and a very courageous thing for you to do.
Plus Jingo looks great! You practically seem like a member of the cast! On that note if you don't mind me asking, who's our favorite character on the show? I'm partial to Vince myself.
Thanks a lot for sharing this photo, it's really incredible. Good luck with everything! ^^

Thanks for the info. I've already watched episode 1-4 and it's great. ^___^
Great show. Glad to see they got a second season.
I see you got a tour of the Mongrels workshop too? Very cool!
Saw some of the tour on YouTube. Gosh it makes me want to build more puppets.
I built Wes and Junior a while back and have future plans to do a talking jaw fursuit, and later a puppet-fursuit bear.

Just one duplicate of each, they only had one of each for the first series but apparently they were wearing out and now use the originals for "rough use" and dressing up etc. They still only have one Kali, but had a duplicate eye/neck/beak mechanism made because it's quite delicate and was making them nervous - if it broke it would stop filming for quite a while because the mechanisms are made by somebody off-site.
Heya, we got to meet all the puppeteers and some of the production crew, they were shooting on location and busy though, so not everyone. The voices are recorded at the very beginning and the puppets lipsync to the audio as it is played out, so we didn't meet the voice actors, although apparently two of them (the voices of Marion and Nelson) did go to the 3rd and final tour day - damn!
Like I posted on the other suiter-invasion pic out there... Bloody fuggin AWESOME! You've inflicted furries on them :D That's just... amazing. XD They need to do a skit for Eurofurence. ;)
BTW, have an OST as a gift for being awesome - http://tobias.kemonoart.org/Mongrels%20OST.rar
