Lionel Postwar 2037 steam loco and 6026W whistle tender
This is the newest locomotive added to my Lionel O-gauge collection, a Postwar 2037 steam locomotive and 6026W whistle tender. The 2037 is technically O-27, which was the middle range in terms of price, being above the Scout series and below O-gauge, though it's 100% compatible with O-gauge, and is actually identical to the more expensive 637 O-gauge model in every way except its number, and was manufactured from 1953-1955 and from 1957-1963. The 6026W tender has an electric whistle hidden inside and is identical to the cheaper 6026T in every way except that the 6026T has no whistle. It was manufactured from 1953-1959, though it was only sold with the 2037 from 1957-1959, but I have no way of knowing if my particular examples originally came together or not. She runs great, and has an interesting smoke unit designed to run on smoke pellets instead of more modern smoke fluid, though I do plan on buying smoke fluid for this, as pellet smoke units can use it, and actually work much better with fluid than pellets, though they can only take a few drops at a time. Also, if you click "Previous", you can see closeups of both the 2037 and the 6026W
