The gunfire kept going, but it never got louder. They were staying in place, it made no sense when there were two of them. Then an explosion was heard in the direction of the gunfire, and it started to make sense. Sue Dan Blitz looked up the mountain, backup had arrived. Firefight was perched on a rock and fired another grenade down over Sue. Running up behind him was a familiar tiger-hybrid, carrying a heavy machine gun in his arms. Sue grinned as reinforcements arrived, she ducted herself down for the coming gunfire, and held her shoulder to cease the pain and bleeding best she could. She peaked out from cover after another explosion went off. She couldn't see the last two soldiers, as the chaos still had them in cover, but she waited.

"Sue, are you alright?" Firefight said over the comms, "We got here as soon as we could,"

"I'm fine, Firefight, got knicked but that's peanuts to this troop of 8." Sue replied, "There's just the two over there. Can you provide cover fire?"

"Not with my kind of ammo," Firefight said, "and running down with a pistol isn't the best choice."

"Not at your distance." Sue said, "Just keep them pinned so I can close the gap."

"That's why I'm here, right?" Tremor Max said, "Get your timing right."

A loud symphony of thunder was heard from above as bullets rained down. Sue waited a time, and then ran after the bullets stop flying to reach new cover. Once in cover she stayed low and hidden; once Max fired off more shots, she ran for new cover, getting closer to her target. While behind a rock, she heard gunfire, just for a moment before Max started shooting again. This dance repeated once again, and then again, each time with Sue getting closer to the soldiers.

She was very close, she knew what to do. "Max, Hold fire." She readied her pistols, and took a breath to brace for the pain. She sprang out, at just the right time. Both soldiers were stepping out, their backs to her and the others. A snap shot from each pistol and they went tumbling down the mountain. "And that's that."

"Head for the caves, check in with Frostfight." Firefight said, "Don't want you bleeding out with your super speed." She saw the wolfess salute him, and he turned to Max, "Search the bodies, being any guns and ammo back to the caves. It's not gonna be military issue, but it'll have to do with our low counts."

Max started walking down, going to body to body, at least what was left of each, grabbing about six rifles and a couple pistols that were functioning. Double checked the bodies for more ammo, then he marched backup the hill to meet with the others. Max walked over by Deathless Lacater, and set the rifles down.

Deathless looked down at the guns, and raised an eyebrow, "Found these in a box down the hill."

"On the soldiers we're fighting." Max said, "You're seeing what I see too, right?"

Deathless simply nodded, "So which of us tells Dalton the news? They're using our own guns."
