While investigating and grading this stone, I could not decide upon a true clarity for it. It is entirely devoid of any usual inclusions and medium to large size particles, with only extremely small particles visible to 30x magnification and above. It does, however, appear to have been cut near the base of the original crystal, with some of the coloring being more pale than the more violet/lavender rich hues. In the areas these colors blend, it appears ~faintly~ cloudy to the eye, thus I gave it both VS1 and VVS1 clarity grades. Can I actually do this? N.. I mean yes. I am the jeweler here. Jokes aside, I am also just not entirely sure if what 'cloudiness' I spotted were inclusions, or just the light/shadows playing with my eyes given how many facets are at play in this wild cut.
