Glad you're one of those people who knows "black panthers" aren't actually a thing (probably because there aren't any animals specifically named the panther lol) and are just leopards and jaguars with melanism, I also really like how you can still see the black rosettes/spots on the body there! Great stuff
In some languages, a panther is another name for a leopard, so the black panther is the only correct name for a black leopard.
For the untrained eye, it is probably difficult to distinguish a black leopard from a black jaguar, even more difficult than it is to distinguish a jaguar from a leopard.
I don't like it, for understandable reasons, when all black cats are simply referred to as panthers, because my character is a black jaguar.
