Pic I did of one of my starfinder playing bud's Bombardier soldier Max. She joined the party pretty late in our Dawn of Flame run and became a best buddy strike team with Alero. The two of them were monsters that had complementary talents. Max found out that she wasn't human but an android copy during the last series of battles and kept it together (barely) until victory. Then the party took her back 'home': the Soul Forge, a sentient machine that bonded with an individual and resurrected them as a copy any time they died without their memories (they could dream about them.) She could only be freed to finish her cycle and die the natural way if someone else took her place so Alero did. Unlike her, he keeps a very detailed 'history of my life and everything' journal updated daily and uploaded to a friend's droid and copied to a couple data crystals every month, intending to cheat the cycle by just relearning himself every time.
