You know it to be true, and you better believe it. Not that I'm anti-American nor am I insinuating that Warner Bros needs to axe out any of the Looney Tunes cast, and I'm not some kind of crazed Anglophile, though I do have a fascination for British culture, but I feel that when it comes to certain characters whose nationality remains in question or ambiguity, it doesn't always have to be "make this character an American" as to me, that is not only lazy and unoriginal, but it's a trope that has been so overused in the series, and overused tropes are a pet peeve of mine.

Now Penelope Pussycat tends to be viewed as French due to her association with Pepe Le Pew, but unlike Pepe whose nationality is set and very clear, it kinda feels like Penelope's nationality tends to be ambiguous most of the time, to say the least. I assert that if Penelope were to finally have her nationality revealed and set, it should be British. While I'm fine with those who still see her as French, I mean "Le mew, le purr," I think her being British makes the most sense, because, just look at the relationship dynamic between her and Pepe Le Pew, it really speaks for itself, and all the same, if she were to be a different nationality other than French, let's not go with something that will just make her a blatant and literal copycat of Sylvester, doubly so since both are tuxedo cats. Not to mention that American is a nationality that just doesn't fit a character like Penelope.
