NOT MY ART

I snagged this truly amazing YCH from Orisana. I cannot recommend her highly enough! Professional, courteous, and just an amazing artist. The YCH matched a moment in Shard's life quite closely and she was willing to make the minor changes to make it perfect.

Shardaron was never the kind of dragon to burn villages or enslave the walkers. He was always the isolationist type in his younger years. That all changed one day. There was another dragon, an evil dragon, in the area that had been harassing the local human kingdom. The king dispatched his knights to track down and slay the beast. One of these groups stumbled upon Shardaron's cave. The knight was new and eager to prove himself to king and country. He ignored Shard's evidence of innocence and ordered his troops to slay him. The act of evil pushed Shardaron, who was already spiritually unstable at this point in his life, over the edge. In a fit of rage Shardaron killed every man and horse. When the smoke cleared, still enraged and out of control, he recognized the flag the humans had been carrying. He flew to the nearby castle and laid waste. His rage gave him strength and numbness to injury. It wasn't until every man and beast lay in a pile of ash he collapsed in exhaustion. When he awoke, mind finally clear, he realized the horror he had committed. In the aftermath, he went to a nearby village for mercy, stood trial for his crime, and was punished (but not executed). He decided to defend the now-defenseless village (and help in any other ways he could) while a new castle was built, he drew closer to Weya under the tutelage of the local priest, and he earned the respect, trust, and friendship of the villagers. So much so, in fact, they donated the ruins of the old castle to him to build a home and become one of the villagers himself. He still lives in the castle, now converted to his home, and helps and defends the village and villagers. He carries not just the scar on his chest but one in his soul from that day and it fuels him to be better and never return to his old ways.
