While Shipwreck Bay looks like a modern city of Unity, it has been around for centuries. It earned its name during Unity's war for independence. The bay leads to a relatively large river that allowed ships to sail up and into the lands of Unity for trade and was a major part of the economy. As such, it was well defended by two forts and these forts where put to the test during the war. Many times, fleets of ships from the old world tried to lay siege to the forts and break them to get to the sweet spoils further up the river. Just as many fleets were sunk and turned away. The bay filled with the wrecks of dozens upon dozens of ships over the years. The bay became so littered with wrecks, only small fishing ships could use it. A large channel was dredged and a wreck was moved to ensure safe passage for the larger ships. This channel was deepened and widened further through the centuries as ships grew ever larger. Now, the bay is a national monument. You will still find small fishing ships sailing in and out, with tourist boats around them, and massive cargo ships using the channel.
