Prompt: stretch
“So,” the zebra femme in the surgical scrubs and lab coat said, “the combination of genetic splicing and radiation has given you a superpower.”
“That’s what they tell me,” the beagle said diffidently. He was sitting on the examination bench, with a sheet draped over his lap. “All I know is I fell asleep and woke up like this.”
“Well, you look like a standard beagle to me – albeit a handsome one,” she said as he blushed. “According to the contact team, you were given an unusual amount of elasticity.” He nodded, and the mare turned around and walked to the far side of the room. “I want you to reach out from where you’re sitting, with both arms. I want to see how far you can reach.”
“Okay.” He reached out his arms, and stared as the two limbs elongated, extending to more than two-thirds of the distance.
“Hold it right there, as long as you can,” and the zebra pulled a piece of chalk from her coat. She stepped forward and marked the floor to show the extent of his reach. “Okay,” and he withdrew his arms. “How about your neck?”
“My neck.” He leaned forward and soon his neck and head had reached almost as long as his arms had.
“Very good,” the zebra said after she had marked the floor and scribbled some notes on her clipboard. She was looking at the clipboard when she asked, “Is there anything else you can do - ?”
She jerked backward in surprise as something warm and wet slapped and slid against the side of her face. The mare stared at the beagle, whose tongue was retracting to his mouth. Once it was back where it belonged, he dipped his ears and said “I’m sorry” in an embarrassed tone.
“Um, well,” the zebra said. “Perhaps we can test your endurance when you’re at the limit of your extension,” and she started to pull her pants down.
The beagle’s tail wagged.
