“It’s a lot to take in,” Ted muttered.
His companion, also named Ted, asked, “What is?”
“This piece of food.”
His companion gave him a slap. “Look, stop playing with it. Wrap a food vacuole around it and come on.”
“But,” the first Ted protested, “I might not be able to move afterwards.”
“That’s what you get for not checking first. Now come on,” and the two amoebae, one still struggling to ingest the morsel of algae, moved off.
