One might call them half-brothers, although there's no shared blood between them.
For background on everything I'm about to say, I refer you to the story Family Matters, a tale of the Realm of Faerie. The management takes no responsibility for the ensuing brain damage.
Westinghouse Winterbough, on the left, is an ice-wyrm, who was hatched out and found himself face to face with Corporal Westersloe Winterbough V, the Master of Elfhame. Westie imprinted on Westersloe, and called him "MAMA!"
Much to the roebuck's embarrassment, and the gleeful laughter of all the femmes in the neighborhood. To his credit, Cpl. Winterbough acknowledged the baby wyvern, adopted him, and named him in a ceremony under the auspices of the Mephitist Church.
While all the varied shenanigans in Family Matters were going on, Westersloe was visiting with Elfhame's resident wyvern femme, Windimere, who acquainted him with her desire to have a baby - with him as the father. Westersloe had had venery with her before, and knew how to magically transform himself into a wyvern. So, after getting permission from his wife, he and Windimere took to the skies and he impregnated her.
About six months or so later, she laid an egg, and eventually hatched out Windsong, or Windie (to distinguish him from his mother's nickname of Windy. I hope you're writing this down).
Westie, being an ice-wyrm, is a stark blue-white color with blue and teal highlights, and can use his breath to freeze things; Windie's got sort of a mix of brown and mint-green in splotches, fading to a pale cream on his underside. True to his mother's blood, Windie can belch fire.
As the two got old enough to fly, they wanted something to do, and their father (who has responsibility for the defense of the demesne) enlisted them into the Elfhame Rangers. Hence the bandanas the two are wearing in the picture.
And yes, Westie is doing the old 'two fingers behind the head' sign behind his brother. The two are good friends, and add a new dimension to warfare that a lot of Elves have no inkling of.
