A newwer addition to the Aelethia party!
Pan is a Rabbit-Folk, a type of beast-folk in Aelethia who are more like talking animals than elves. They come in various types and some can look more humanoid and others more animal. Rabbit-folk are notoriously the LEAST Magical, and as such, welcome in all Kingdoms. Many people enjoy Rabbit-folk as they're loyal and hard workers in fields tending to crops, digging wells, or mining for materials. Many elves also find them adorable, so you can often find a few in bustling cities, though most Rabbit-folk prefer the safety of living in large underground burrow communities, occasionally offering mined goods to nearby civilizations or travelers.
Pan has always had a love for Magic, being born at the tail end of the Magic War, he met many heroic Magicians as a kit. His peers however, have no interest in it, as no Rabbit-Folk can cast magic without a conduit if at all, and there's no use for magic in the burrows. They will help out a Magician in hiding in exchange for goods or services, as they're ambivalent to magic. But a Rabbit-folk learning and using magic is laughable. Rabbits work WITH magicians, not AS Magicians.
After getting laughed at another day while trying to practice magic, Pan packs up and leaves the burrow to save the rest of his family from more humiliation. He meets an old and bitter Magician veteran from the Magic War and BEGS to become his apprentice. The Magician laughs at him and instead hires him as a dust bunny, enjoying the absurdity of watching a Rabbit try to cast magic to pass the time while shooing away any trespassers who aren't fellow Magicians, and swatting Pan's paws away from any of his more precious magical items. When the old man is taken away by Banishers, Pan saves what he can from a fiery destruction and takes over the man's magic shack where he helps people on occasion, and on most occasions miscasts spells making things worse.
Fun Facts:
- Pan is the oldest party member of the group.
- Rabbit-Folk measure their age by their ears. The longer the ears, the older they are. Elders have ears that drag across the floor.
- Rabbit-Folk height is measured in "steps." rather than "Feet"
- The crystal wand Pan uses to conduct magic is a relic from before the Magic War. It's exceedingly rare, hefty, and quite durable. Without it Pan can't cast any magic. As with any conduit crystal, to charge the wand Pan can leave it in any absorbable elemental body such as Water, Fire, or Sunlight.
- Pan disguises the wand as a broom when he goes into town.
- His favorite Vegetable is a Rabbish.
- When the wand is out of magic, Pan uses it as a bludgeon in a pinch.
