I picked up a simple watercolor set last week and decided to try it today. This is a small 4x6 size as a test sample and get a feel for the materials. I can see I'm still locked in 'marker' mode though, with bright colors and very little blending. I also didn't get shading in the mouse's hair. I forgot.

The pose I like. The soft base she's laying on I like as well. I even like the green background. I'm not sure I should have used an ink pen to redefine the lines though. That makes it a bit too hard toon edged. Not sure what I could have done to avoid it though. Darker border lines that are based on the color it is coming from? That might have worked better. Not sure.

Ideas?

What do I do with this pic in the mean time?
