This piano solo of mine is another attempt at a game show theme; the show "Shop 'til You Drop," one of my favorites. The original game pitted two married couples against each other in a two-tier mall setting as host Pat Finn had them do crazy stunts and answer questions testing their shopping knowledge. The winners then had 90 seconds to shop until they dropped; here, the team had six boxes in front of them, and had to decide whether to keep each gift or exchange it for a gift from the stores in the mall. They got to keep the prizes no matter what happened, but if they could rack up at least $2,500 worth of merchandise, they also won a dream vacation.

It's a show my brother and I loved watching; we especially took delight at announcer/co-host Dee Bradley Baker's various characters he would portray. One notable character is Grandma Curmudgeon.

In 2003, JD Roberto became the new host, and the setting was changed to a mega-store (based on the premise of a warehouse setting such as Costco or Sam's Club). However, my arrangement is based on the original version with Pat Finn.
