Outskirts: Engine Failure
Diji managed to stay infront of the pack fairly consistently for most of the night, he hadn't much experience driving offroad but quickly caught on to the ins and outs of it. Things were looking like he was going to be the first one to reach the helipad if he can keep this up for another half-
KER-BLAM!
Something in the engine bay malfunctioned, maybe a piston shot through the side of the block, maybe a headgasket blew, maybe it threw a rod; regardless, whatever happened amounted to complete and total engine failure, sending him spinning out, rear-ending a tree. Maya, Nelson and the unable to stop Ax'L flying past as he frantically tried to asses what happened and how. At this moment, all Diji could do was to look oh helplessly as Ax'L now had to face down two well-trained smugglers on a dark, snow-covered path.
That and stay warm. Maybe figure out what happened too.

It finally dawned on me that with how long these cars have been trudging through the snow that they'd be COVERED with it, and I tried to incorporate that into these panels. That and I got a little better at drawing night scenes! Feel like the rest of this arc is going to have to be told in a more traditional comic panel-styled format to get the information across that I want to, which is SUPER tricky and time consuming, but I've made it this far and I can't stop now! I've got SO much planned for the end of this arc and the final arc, I can't WAIT to share all of this stuff with the world!
As always, thank you soo much for taking a look at my work, and, if it suits your fancy, giving these descriptions a read! Dialogue isn't my strong suit so I've been trying to opt out of text bubbles in favor of delivering as much visual information as possible.
Featured cars:
1992 Acura Integra
1976 Chevrolet El Camino
1977 Chevrolet K30 CrewCab Pickup
1988 Fiat X1/9 Bertone
