This was one of the first practice “sheets” I did around 2 years ago when I was trying to figure out how to draw avians in a more cartoony style. Honestly the expressiveness of this crow is probably better than some of my latest stuff even lol, but I think this drawing marks a pivotal moment when I realized how to draw like this.
Before this one, I actually did a short practice sheet drawing “cartoonizing” real crows in this style, after being inspired from watching a “how-to-draw-in-this-style” video from an old Disney animator, before moving to anthro.
