One more local critter conservatory sketchbook trip before the end of the year with scribblings of varying quality. But this time I actually remembered to jot down what animal is what.
Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum is a really nice facility. Mix of indoor and outdoor enclosures including their desert loop trail that makes for a good low impact hike/walk.
They also do raptor free-flight demonstrations from December through March that has the birds swooping right over visitor’s heads. And I’m talking inches away and even felt a bird wing flap into the brim of my floppy hat. I highly recommend it if you’re in Tucson.
Animals featured here:
caracara
desert bighorn sheep
coyote
red tail hawk
black-banded magpie jay
Mexican gray wolf
mountain lion
javelina
