Luke and Vanessa, being anthro spiders, have very high metabolisms. Sugar breaks down quickly into alcohol, making them very quick and easy drunks.
What are they drinking? Egg nog; the concentration of sugar in it is almost guaranteed to get a spider plastered.
Fortunately the same high metabolic rate that gets them inebriated also breaks down the alcohol, so they'll sober up in a few hours.
