Heee, I love this comment, 'delicious' is the word I would use ^^ That panel is the bessst. I'm so glad we've gotten to the point in the story where Dice gets to actually have a human side. I think Demi must have been getting tired of drawing him with the same stern expression over and over.

Aside from my first post, beautiful page. Wonderful expressions, SO glad to see Dice having some real expressions now. Love the little effect with Nine's eyes you added in there! Can't decipher whether Nine is getting under Dice's skin out of spite or pity however...

Your comment makes me gleeful. I'm glad you're speculating over Nine's motivations. It should be pretty perplexing that so far he hasn't made an overt attempt to escape or harm Dice or Aras :P

Well, seeing as how I think I vaguely remember you mentioning somewhere (yeah, great memory I have there) That Nine is like over 300 years old... a few months out of his life isn't a real long time. This was probably more of a side attraction to him. Specially since he always worked out, keeping himself fit. Its like he was just waiting for the right moment (or he got bored of it) and then this event happened.

I don't know if he devalues his time spent in a cage based on the length of his life, and it's definitely not out of boredom that he stays, but he'll give some reasoning eventually... just not right away XP

SERIOUSLY. For a doctor, Dice is a scatterbrain and a klutz to a ridiculous degree. Most of that is because of the drugs, however.

Yes, the beginning is slow and 'observational' very deliberately, we're setting the stage of how horrible the labs are. Not to worry, shit is about to hit the fan and we'll have a whole lot more dialog and action. Thanks for the feedback!

I feel that Nine's dialogue would have less impact if he hadn't been pretty much silent right up until this point :P The quiet, observational part was pretty necessary so far.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. The pace starts to really pick up from here and sorta explodes at some point, but I still don't have a page guesstimate XP Still, there'll be dialogue 8D

I know that Nine and Dice eventually hook up. I also know that Nine will eventually be escaping. What I can't wait to see is the series of events that lead up to Nine taking Dice with him. "Hey guys I'm going to escape and I'm taking this phoenix as a souvenir!"

It's nice to finally see Dice with some facial expressions. =D

I'm a huge Nine fangirl myself, but I am probably very biased due to writing Dice's dialog and therefore seeing Nine through Dice's eyes.

He just makes for an incredibly strong character, just based on what we know of him from the comic, and I really enjoy the depth of the two characters, but his face (Those big eyebrows) and his jawline make me swoooon.

He should do the Creep since he is one. o_o

Hehe, Nine may have fangs, but he's no vampire. He's a dragon-shifter. Just the same, later in the story there is a vampire who thinks very little of Dice's drug habits, she has much better self-control.

Hehe, you picked up on the non-dilated pupils, neh? He actually has been tranquilized fairly recently (and twice in one day at that), but Dice was actually correct when he said 'not sedated ENOUGH.' Nine's a body elemental, so his body develops a tolerance to the drugs faster and metabolizes them faster... Part of why Dice is so alarmed. Nine should be FAR too high to make observations about his drug habits.

OHO! Now, see, that could be dangerous. If any other body element were to decide they wanted to take drugs, it would take more and more to get them high, and eventually, they'd just overdose :D

Probably the number is terrifying and depressing. It doesn't help that perhaps the most popular drug on the market is vampire venom (these vampires are the kind with a poisonous bite, which gives their victims a feeling of euphoria, meaning they don't WANT to escape.) Some vamps keep junkies as pet food supplies, I'm sure.
