Caregivers and tinkerers of the forests, Gnomes tend to the minute complexities of nature, such as the roots of a tree, freshly growing seeds, colonies of mushrooms, and flocks of animals. The High Elves saw great potential in gnomes, and drew some from their forest homes into their cities, where the gnomes would take their attentive labour into civic duties and crafts, where wondrous machines and fine cobblings would be made.
