And yeah that's why I like Sculptris, too. It's really nice for transferring drawing skills into sculpted things. Just making use of the models later on in animatable ways is hard xD

Luckily I don't intend to go that far with it. |D

But doing 3D sculpture is still pretty fun.

Sadly though I don't think this computer I have it on is fit to do a whole body. It was slowing down even as I got to this point. I might be able to manage a detailed bust at most. :P

I'm running with just under 4 GB of RAM.

Odd. I had no problems sculpting up to about 1.7 million polygons and that was when I had 3GB RAM installed. Are there other processes stealing memory? You should reach at least 500000 polygons without significant slowdown.

I'm sure there was. I just don't know what. I'll figure it out later. I'm passing out as I type. |3 I'll keep this updated as i play with it. It'll be sporadic at best. X3

ram isn't the issue here. sculptris needs a quite powerful graphics card to work properly (zbrush makes more use of the cpu instead of gpu like sculptris). I tried to run it on my laptop with intel integrated graphics and it almost froze at 70000 tris. tried it on a laptop of a friend with almost the same specs but with dedicated nvidia graphics and it worked like a charm!
so basically if you have intel graphics or something older than 5 years you won't be able to do detailed work in sculptris :(

What is sculptris?

It's a 3D sculpting program currently in alpha development stages. You can literally take a ball and sculpt it like clay into pretty much whatever you want.
