Years of fighting were all for naught. Collapsing on the ground in front of his love, he bowed his head. For years he fought valiantly to protect her, but the evil finally consumed his beloved.
Casting off the locket he gifted so very long ago, she stood there before him, mocking his sorrow with laughter. He reached out and grabbed the symbol of his affection, opening it, looking at the pictures of them inside and began to weep at the realization that he had failed. Love was just not enough to save or protect her, if anything it only enabled the evil to take a deeper hold because he kept wanting to believe she would be alright.
Here they were standing in the middle of the chaos. The building crumbling around as she unleashed her new found power against them. In his anguish, a single tear spilled from his eye onto the locket.
A warmup doodle, literally generated on the fly by a scribble, that
mayu_cat found a story in and influenced the outcome.
This came out pretty epic. Just sayin...
