Imagine finding out a guy got mobbed to death and none of the perpetrators even acknowledge it. Or, more horrifically, they acknowledge it but act as though nothing is wrong with what they did. They can't explain why they did it, but they can't feel guilty over it and insist the victim "had it coming."
