Nabii Reference
Nabii reference for 2025.
So I actually thought I'd change a lot more about her, only to find just redrawing and slight redesign was enough? ...We'll just say her look was timeless and no need to overhaul??

Also. Nabii's current body is from when the boys are around 2-3. She was skin and bones when she first got to the states. Had a better weight when she got pregnant. She had twins - they came out as eggs. All of it resulted in some slight changes to her body. So she's still thin, but she's at least a little more bottom heavy, and she's gained some musculature she keeps pretty fit. I like to imagine by the time her twin boys are 8-10 years of comfort and safety have allowed her to gain a little bit more weight. But Nabii was denied proper nutrition for many formative years, so she struggles with maintaining a healthy weight. Like Gretchen and Hendrix, it's also a matter of genetics. Lots of spiders have an average body type that is more long and lean, just because of caloric and protein demands that are much harder to meet as spiders. So sometimes Nabii can look a bit too thin. But I tend to draw her a couple years into her journey as a mom, which is a positive turning point for her.
ALSO. Nabii's story needs to be rewritten and I have FINALLY done some lore/world building recently. But Nabii is only vaguely South Asian, as are the rest of the spider cast. The spider homeland would be 30-40% reminiscent of India. So Nabii does not have a bindi, and the caste system she was oppressed under is not based around the Indian caste system. Clothes, culture, food, and religious iconography might be referenced and bear a pretty good resemblance, because it used to be India, many many years ago. I'm working on a document and the writing and clarifying the lore. But yeah. I feel I need to emphasize this more with Nabii, but that's a critical distinction to keep in mind. Nabii comes from a cut-throat spider culture where she is from a race of spiders that have no legal rights and are a slave class - none of these things are reminiscent of Indian politics or to dog on their caste system or to say anything about India as we know it. That would not be my place. This is a whole new fucked up system and only vague culturally-iconographic similarities remain.
