To Caramel: Love takes time. The best advice I can think of is this: Just be yourself. Be truthful and honest with what you like doing. And if you give any of the things that the other person likes to do a chance, and if you end up liking it as well, you let that person know if you wanna see each other again.

My advice, Caramel? You can't hit the target if you never shoot your shot. Rejection may suck, but so does the pain of not knowing - the regret of never having tried. Eventually, if you want something, you just gotta take the chance on going out and trying to get it and see how it shakes out. No sense putting on airs or making grand gestures - you have to earnestly offer yourself, since if it's not meant to be for the real you, it's not meant to be at all.

To Caramel: The only best way to do it is to simply ask. If ya' need something to help with courage, take em' out for a bit of a drink, get some liquid courage (if you drink... just not too much), enough to just relax.... and always be prepared to hear "no". Now it sounds easy to say, be prepared to hear a "no", I get how hard it can be... but ask yourself this: Are you prepared to live with that shard in your heart saying "what if", or do you want to know the answer for sure, so you can work towards moving on or building that fantasy if it goes well?

Besides, the question is, how well are you two getting along anyways? Have there been signs that said person could be into you? Sometimes signs are hard to notice, mayhaps they don't exist, but sometimes even best friends can become lovers. It never hurts to ask how they feel about relationships in general, you know? Get a feeling for it. Test the waters.

Just in the end, the main thing - be yourself, because it is that "YOU" that you are expecting the person to love. Caramel is the one who will be spending the rest of her life with this person. Caramel is the one who will be intimate with this person. Caramel is the one, who will smile for their success and weep with them on their loss.
Relationships form between the most unlikely of people sometimes. You can see people who you may think would never be in a relationship reveal that suddenly they have a lover, so the chances are always there. ^^

And if you do get rejected, try to take it calmly... in the end you've got a lot of friends here that will comfort you if things don't go well, you're surrounded by good company, and if ya' need it, I don't mind consoling. I feel like it's something I am capable of.

For Caramel, I advise being open and honest about it. Any good relationship is built on trust, whether it's professional, platonic, romantic, or otherwise, and you can't have trust without clear, honest communication. If you're truly close with this person, then you can trust them to respect your feelings whether or not they reciprocate. Don't just rely on dropping subtle hints and hoping they get the message, since they may well do the same - you won't get anywhere if you're both waiting for the other to make the first move.
