I'm not so sure about that. Kalkgur got immediate scorn from Tsshk'Gn and others, so it's not unbelievable that they could hold similar scorn for a half-blood. While Baxxid larva seem to have conscience that forms their memories, human infants have a basic one that does not, so she may have even caused harm that she never realized, only to earn it the same way Kal did.
She actually talk about home in very first section of this page which she also mention she move away from. So quite clear she not part braxxid as they seem more localized and lived underground. She was scorn because her size meaning that even smallest member is typically bigger than her.
Isher has what soldiers call a foxhole buddy now. Kalgkur handily outsizes and outmasses her but he's a big softie for the most part. Even his unfortunate accident wasn't a killing impulse, after all. Maybe Isher now has a buddy her size and strength she can hang out with. And Kalgkur has someone wise in the ways of being an exile to look up to. Shipping nothing. Even as friends these two are (maybe literally) made for each other.
Kassen is literally a case example of what I will always champion as humanity's true superpower. The real reason that we are a terrifying NIGHTMARE to alien conquerors and xenophobes.
We make friends.
More than any other species, we look at apex predators and monsters who could as likely eat us as anything, and what do we say immediately? "Friend-shaped!". An ancient, lonely wolf was offered a place by the fire and some food...and became the dog. A cat needed some alone-time, noticed we won't hurt them, so they dumped their kittens in the human's lap to go off and hunt. Even today, people befriend random wild animals.
We worry and fret that HFY would take the shape of a terrifying and dystopian universe of human super-soldiers that genocide everything. We. WORRY. About this. Because while such is the worst of our nature, yes, our true nature is its exact opposite. We are all, on some level, what Cassen does in his relationships:
Humans are the makers of friends.

Speaking in parallel with Isher's experience, I can say that being small has it's benefits. At least you aren't colliding with door jambs for being so tall / big, nor do you have trouble getting into, or adjusting to smaller cars.
As for Kalgkur... Well bud, get used to saying hello to the head jamb of this place. xD

Isher finding out she is no longer the tallest in their friend group.
Still somewhat surprised they haven't put her on guard duty watching Kass since they already know each other and she'd probably actually enjoy guarding him all day. Hell I'm sure the scientist guy would arrange it and give Kass a list of things for him to grab for "experiments" only for the list to take him to popular dating spots around the city. Both to help Kass and simultaneously fuck with him.

Oi, OOPs gang! I'm here to remind you once again that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
It closed out last month at around 12996+ votes and 80th place. It's currently at 7154 votes and 95th place. The highest it's reached is 36th place, and the top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 60,000 votes, at least recently.
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

I'll repeat my comment on this from last time:
"The numbers at TWC have gotten very strange recently. Hundreds of votes have been showing up suddenly every day, and the rankings throughout a day have been going radically up and down. I recently noticed that this is just confined to the comics in the top 100.
This is making the numbers and rankings pretty meaningless, and is really unfair to any comic not in the top 100. It also makes it a complete crapshoot where the comics end up at the end of the month. I haven't been able to find out what's going on with this."

I now really want to calculate a bone worms density and strength... we have 2 good data points one is how much force would a blunt long claw take to slice through a body and how much force to punch a chip out of ??? some sort of solidified bug spit ??? without even noticing ... more specifically solidified bug spit that is tool worked to around 3 inches thick. ... I am thinking the bug spit is a bit stronger than a mud wasp probably a bit stronger than sand stone but not granite somewhere between the two I am guessing
I really want to know Isher's parentage. Her hybrid traits imply some serious biological incompatibility, but the biology in this world building has been so methodically thought out that there has to be a sensible explanation. Extreme evolutionary divergence, but not so far as to be incompatible? Ancient technological civilization that overcame the boundaries of genetic biology, but ultimately fell into obscurity? Another artifact?
