Strangely enough Hap has a more evolutionised new Order than Oren (for now at least). As it seems he has found a full coexistence of pred and prey where both sides put something in the pot. Predators never hunting the herd and protecting them from other dangers while the prey seem to sacrifice one of their own to feed the preds (as I guess that is what the Zenith is about the blood sacrifice of the herd to feed their protectors).
Oren seems to be forced into a similar route now thanks to Rask, as Swift, Red and their pups could now become the additional "teeth" of the Hollow. It will be interesting to see if Oren, Rask and Swift can find a different and possibly better solution to the problem than Hap and the Herd did.

I feel like their solution was foreshadowed when the characters pondered what Rask would do when the lake freezes over and theres no more fish, as well as Rask being taught how to cook eggs. Im predicting Rask was going to learn from the prey animals by trying to figure out how to cache meat- AKA smoking it dry and burying it in the cold, or killing and freezing fish at the start of winter
Problem is Swift, Red and the pups will not be able to only survive on eggs and fish caught. So how their needs can be sated will be the true test.
But strangely as much as this is a dark story I somehow have full faith that Oren's group will find a way to make a better coexistance.

I bet that's her mate and pup in panel 3. Hap seems reasonable and this method of coexisting seems to work. She doesn't strike me as one to go through with infanticide so I wonder if that was Hap's decision or the other Zenith wolves just abusing power. Also, bison are matriarchal irl so it'd be cool if the lead bison were also female
