After the merge, Brittney's sorority sisters became the secondary chimera-heads with her as the overall "leader" of the body and shared mind. Their memories and personalities remain intact, but whatever Brittney thinks, feels, and decides, the other two internalize, support, and agree with her, as if it was their own idea. So unexpectedly, Brittney finally got the harmony and unconditional support she always needed from her sorority sisters.
(Brittney is the only one who ever had any sort of opinion about DS9 whatsoever before the merge)

Kind of reminds me of how, in split brain patients (people whoβve had the corpus callosum, the main connection hub between brain hemispheres, severed), when the right hemisphere does something, the left hemisphere will just make up an explanation for why they did it despite not having anything to do with the decision.
I agree! also, DS9 is by far the BEST space battles too! They went all in on the CGI for them. Watching unique ship's bulkheads melt, framing get exposed and torn to pieces, and saucer sections crack into 3 or 4pieces is SO MUCH better than watching the same Klingon Vor'cha class and Bird of Prey explode in exactly the same way as they always did for years.
This is really cute, and I LOVE your take on the Chimera, with the three component beafts in near-equal proportions, rather than just extra heads stuck on a body. It really nails Homer's description of "in the fore part a lion, in the hinder a serpent, and in the midst a goat".
Wait, there are people who DON'T think DS9 is the Very Best Star Trek?
There is/was a ton of negativity surrounding DS9 until more recently, actually. As people have revisited the show or watched it as new fans, it's become a fan favorite. But that's a recent development. When it was coming out, people HATED it for being a less optimistic take on the Roddenberry future, among other things. A lot of older fans still hold those opinions, having never bothered to give it another chance.
Huh, I guess that makes sense. I definitely donβt agree with that take (the Federation is trying - and ultimately succeeding IMO - to live up to its ideals on DS9/Bajor), but I guess I can see how someone would feel that way.
β¦funnily enough DS9 would be one of the more optimistic, utopian series nowadays, given how they properly treat Section 31 as a repugnant betrayal of Federation ideals lol

Glorious chimerification~...
I usually opt for single-headed (blended) chimerism, but occasionally the serpent-tailed variant is fun too! I usually do a similar take, where the tail isn't independent (sharing the same nervous system, and all) but still has distinct behaviors and mannerisms. It's fun!
