It was a kind of passing joke that he had to sell all his clothes in order to afford to got Anthrocon. Hence the jokes about him being naked when in full suit.

Furs got so used to seeing him (rocket wolf) in a clothed a partial suit so now the naked full suit has become kind of " stuck " to him. (chukcles).
