since poetry is always tricky, the last line whould read, "through the distant lands that no one inhabits".
the original starts with "Flieger", which is Joe Average's name for a pilot who owns their plane they are flying, used from the beginning into the 40, and the whole song is taken from an old movie with Hans Albers.

Hmm. Interesting. I guess Flieger would fit the fennec fox here since he, technically, owns his plane. LOL. However, I don't speak German, so seeing Fennek instead of Fennek fuchs has me a bit confused. Does German assume you know Fennek refers to the fox? I ask because I like to learn about other languages.
