You ever get a really bad craving and you just don't really care about anything other than sating it? That's how Apollo can get sometime.
While rare, sometimes he REAAAALLY gets a craving for some kind of food, and the first poke that fits the bill usually can't really do anything but fill his guts.
At least this Arbok seems to understand he can't really fight against a hungry espie with telekinesis, makes working them down a whole lot easier.
