What do you know, I did have another fanfic idea for Jana of the Jungle in me!
Jana, Montaro, Ben Cooper, Ghost, and Tiko are © Hanna-Barbera and Warner Brothers. Jana was voiced by B. J. Ward, Montaro was voiced by Ted Cassidy, and Ben was voiced by Michael Bell – the same VA who voiced Dash and Duke, and if you listen to their respective characters in both cartoons, he voiced Ben and Duke just about exactly the same way.
It’s also worth noting that Montaro was probably one of Ted Cassidy’s last speaking roles. He died in early 1979, not long after Jana debuted on NBC.
Ghost and Tiko didn’t have speaking parts in the Jana series. You’ll have to imagine their voices for yourselves.
As for the other characters, Petey, Dolly, Duke, Dash, and Lucky are © Ruby-Spears, Hanna-Barbera, and Warner Brothers, based on characters created by Jane Thayer. Robert, Charlie, and the rest of the characters are © RC Gumby. All claims to their respective copyrights.
