I finally got around to draw my umbreon oc Dreamcatcher again and after she even got to participate in Art Fight this year I felt like adding some lore.

I originally created her because a dear friend of mine kept saying I was an umbreon.
Umbreon's og design is kinda bland. I don't like the solid black combined with the bright yellow rings that much either.
If I had to pick an eeveelution as my favorite it would actually be espeon or maybe jolteon.
But I still take it as a compliment to get compared to a dark type pokémon since dark types are my favorites.

Dreamcatcher is female and slightly smaller than an avarage Umbreon.
She's got fluffy chest fur with a white marking (like black cats sometimes have).
Her fur is dark brown instead of solid black and the ring markings appear to be more golden than yellow.

There are rumors that her colors and traits come from being interrupted while evolving or due to the fact that she evolved without the help of a human trainer.

None of that is true and her appearance might come from some kind of mutation similar to genes that cause Pokémon to be shiny. Nothing is really proven though.

She's timid, likes to hide in the dark and prefers to be alone, yet she's got a few very close friends including a houndour (my Pokésona) and a furret.

She's got excellent night vision and a very dark humor (oh how fitting!)

Dreamcatcher avoids humans at all cost. She's not interested in getting caught and serve any human.
The only one she shows herself to sometimes is an old lady who lives close to the woods. She is a former Pokémon caretaker who closed the Pokémon care after her husband passed. Now she lives alone accompanied only by her loyal mabosstiff and enjoys feeding wild Pokémon who live in the woods behid her house.
