Next is another character who has been given a birthday by the Disneystrology book. We've covered Vixey, and now we're up to the Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast! Despite Belle being like the main focus of the story, the main character has always been the Beast because he's the one who goes through an arc. He initially started off as a spoiled, narcissistic, self-centred prince who wanted everything for himself, and when he cast out an old beggar woman who offered him a rose in exchange for shelter from the cold, he made the biggest mistake of his life, as the woman was really an enchantress who punished his misdeed by turning him into his beastly form that we see before us and placed a curse on the castle, with one condition: the rose that she offered was enchanted and it will bloom until his 21st year, and he must learn to love one person and earn her love in return before the last petal fell in order to break the spell, lest he will be doomed to remain a beast forever. Initially he intended to keep Belle for the purpose of getting her to love him when she came to his castle and offered herself in exchange for her father Maurice's freedom, but he was very temperamental, which resulted in some back and forth before he unintentionally scared her out of the castle to a pack of fierce wolves, but after he saved her from the wolves, they started bonding, and began to soften up, seeing her less as a prisoner, and more as a visitor who he can genuinely develop feelings for. Things were turning out well, until Belle found out that her father was out searching for us and succumbing to his illness, prompting her to rescue him after he decided to release her, but not without another problem arising in the shape of Gaston riling up an angry mob of villagers with the intention to coerce her into marriage to prevent her father from being committed to an insane asylum. And of course, we know the rest, Belle proved the Beast's existence, putting a dent on Gaston's plan, which prompts him to rally the mob to storm the Beast's castle so to kill him since he feels no one but only him can have Belle, they had their fight with the Beast winning, though he got badly wounded, Belle confessed her love for him and the spell was broken as the Beast and his enchanted object servants were restored back to being human again, and it was a happy ending.
While the Beast is back as his human prince self, his beast form is the most iconic and memorable, not to mention quite adorable, contrary to the story claiming it to be hideous, so I took it upon myself to draw him that way. His character arc is so compelling, and while he canonically has no name given, there are some fans, particularly those who either grew up with or knew about a rather obscure Disney trivia game called The D Show, who believe his name to be Adam. Whether that is his real name or not, there is no denying that the Beast stands as one of the best Disney characters and one of the most beloved Disney Princes. According to the Disneystrology book, his birthday was on August 15th, a rather perfect timing since the spell didn't indicate the rose will start wilting straight as soon as he turned 21, but likely at some point in time, so given how the events took place shortly before or as Winter is rolling around, it would have been somewhere at the tail of November, appropriately when you apply The Enchanted Christmas, and somewhere around the beginning of Spring, which by the time the rose has already reached its expiration date, so it would have taken a few months for Belle and Beast to develop their relationship.
More on the Disneystrology book, the Beast is described as passionate, transformative, and commanding, which is very accurate to his character. Individuals born on August 15th have a heart bursting with competing desires... their minds can be an unreliable judge casting harsh determinations on theirr worth and that of others... they understand the power of love by experiencing the effects their actions have on others... the beautiful essence of who they are never dies, for in time they are liberated and allowed their full expression... they are bestowed the gifts of reflection, strength, and majesty, and their keys to their success is by allowing the ones they love come to them. It really goes in line on who the Beast is by nature and character, truly a positive representation of the Leo zodiac.
