For every transgressing is a Spike in thier flesh. the gravity of their guilt is built into the disk that is them attached to their shoulders. Iorn Lichs serve in the Iorn city, and do Darkahns bidding. their purpose is to punish and purify other souls who have not taken the path to redemption.
Redeemers and Sinners on the path of redemption themselves. Iorns Lichs who serve Darkahn do so under the impression that for every "task" they complete that benefits Another at the sacrifice of their hubris. will ligthen then wheight of their sins. and for ever transgression they rectify. a spike is removed. veer from the path, or commite any sort of sin that harms thyself or another and a new spike is added.
for Iorn lichs excistence is Pain. but there is a way out. if one fully commits to harboring good will for the benefit of others and turn thy spirit/soul around and better thyself. there may be a chance that one can free thyself of their sins and transgressions and walk the path throught the 9th gate into Ohanins garden.
For some however, this path is completely blocked off. and will serve for hundreds even thousands of years befor theres even remotely the opperunity to be free of their Burden.
Iorn Lichs are not to trifled with. they can be formidable opponents, useing those very same spikes and blades that adorn their body as mid to long range weapons, basicly "Shareng their Pain" with others who cross their paths.
The Chains of torment can be used to grapple targets and cause literl burns from the lake of fire that surrounds the Iorn City. punishing anyone foolish enough to tangle with a gaurdian of the burning seas.
And lastly they are able to cast Profain curses on targets to either debilitate or slow down their charges.
For many, becomeing an Iorn Lich can be a punishment. for others, it can be seen as a way to pay off Penance for past transgressions in the afterlife, by suffering the pain one has caused others in their previouse life.
Pain can be suffering, but it can also be purifying, strengthing. suffer not the pain of others, carry the wheight of your own burdens and one day see you shake off the shackles that bind you.
