Uncertainty/Trepidation
Was it the right choice? Will family accept him? It hurt so much to stay in the closet, but is stepping out worth being rejected by everyone he knows? He won't be able to hide changes much longer

Wonder/Cautious Excitement
Immediate family is accepting. Extended family is a mixed bag, but the ones who matter don't care. It's been an adjustment for everyone, but he--she?--is finally starting to feel like herself. There's a weight lifted off her shoulders (and moved to her chest)
