I created a couple of characters for an original story I wrote. The story takes place on a beach island entirely inhabited by anthropomorphic cats. That island is called Felorida, a play on the animal category Feline and the US state Florida.

This pic is of one of the characters in my story. This character is the protagonist of my story. His name is Booster Duke, and he is a slender gray cat who wears a pink speedo. Booster is a surfer; he loves to surf, and he surfs to relax and enjoy the waves and the cool breeze. He has learned to surf as a kid from his late big brother, Ripple, who was a surfer himself and a surf instructor to the kids in Felorida. When Booster was taught how to surf, he was told by Ripple these following words:

“Whenever you get caught in a tide, don’t struggle against it, or you will drown. You must remain calm, think clearly and positive, and find another route to take. Only then, will you make it back to shore.”

Booster was told this everyday during surf lessons, and the more times he heard Ripple say this, the more he came to understand that there are two meanings behind it. One of the meanings of this was literal, which helped Booster learn how to surf. The other meaning was figurative, which was an important life lesson for Booster to use, that being to remain calm and focused, think clearly and carefully, keep a positive attitude, and be clever when he would end up in a bad situation in order figure out how to overcome it and succeed in doing so. This is advice that Booster has taken to heart ever since, and he never panics or loses hope when he ends up in a bad situation.

Booster is kind, friendly, caring, gentle, generous, graceful, and humble. All of these qualities make him one of the most popular and well-liked citizens of Felorida. He cares about his island and everyone living in it so much that he will stand up for them and speak up whenever they are in a bad situation, showing no fear or sign of being intimidated.

He enjoys the beauty and simplicity of Felorida, as well as the relaxing and peaceful island lifestyle, as does about everyone else on the island. He knows what makes the island such a special and wonderful place for all of its inhabitants, and he disapproves of anything that can harm, endanger, or destroy the island and the lives of all those who live on it, such as factories and big buildings, especially those planned for construction there by Butch King, the most disliked cat there.
